Action Regulation

Piano Regulation is a normal part of piano service routine. It is the process of adjusting the dimensions between the moving parts of a piano action in order to achieve the best performance possible. There are 37 steps of things we check and adjust on a full job.  Regulation optimizes things like key height, key travel, power, and repetition. This work should be performed if one of the the following conditions are present:

The felt and leather components of a piano action have become compressed or worn. The action can no longer perform efficiently.

New piano action parts have been installed and are not in proper dimensional alignment.

The ability of normal playing of the piano is not even or the same between the bass, tenor, mid range, and treble sections.
